My Girl

Next I realised that I could enter my card to more than one challenge as long it was in keeping of the various rules - so my next card is entitled 'My Girl'

Using the matting and layer card I die-cut a doily shape out of the middle before layering the pieces up.  This time I used a stamp Little Claire which I have had for several years.  I coloured in the image with Promarkers - Blossom, Rose Pink, Khaki, Sandstone, Tan, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Ivory and Blush.  The colours I think work well together.  Around the outside of the stamped image I used a blending tool with distress ink Antique Linen - this soften the ages and also gave it a vintage look.

The background paper was from Lili of the Valley.

This time for the flowers I used a Sizzix die but used the same technique as in An American in Paris.  I also put a swirl of self adhesive gems.

A shop recently opened in our town which dedicates itself to jewellery making - quite a treasure trove.  In there I found these charms which I thought were cute.

To finish off the card I put a small piece of lace and heart shaped button which I found in my stash.

This is on Challenges for:

I am still learning with the linking so each time I hope I am getting better.

Thank you for visiting

An American in Paris

If at first you don't succeed try, try again - I aiming to do as many challenges it is physically possible for me to enter.

My first card for Charisma Cardz Challenge is inspired from an American in Paris - with the romance shown by the ribbon and flowers and Paris elements.

The Recipe of a Birthday stamp is from Dreamees
To make the flowers I drew around an old camera film container (who remembers them?) and cut them into a spiral.  Using a cocktail stick and starting outside working in wrap around.  Keep it nice and tight.  When you ready the end let it spring open slight and glue it together using the middle as a base - I find using a heat gun is the best as it instant.

Whoops! :-(

Just realised that clearing out the comments is NOT like cleaning out your inbox - I have sadly lost all my published comments and I am sad about this as there was some lovely comments.  It is hard lesson learnt and you always learn through your mistakes.

Quick Makes

Doesn't time sneak up on you unaware - suddenly thought about 3 birthday cards and needing to a card for someone who was going on maternity leave this week.  Needless to say I have completed 50% and have tomorrow to complete the other 50% (papers sorts, images ready so it shouldn't take too long) for Tuesday.

So here is the cards achieved so far -

This card is for - oh I can't mention as she hasn't celebrated her birthday yet.  Although you can't see the detail of the butterfly I put crackle glue over the wings to give more an authentic look. To add a bit more dimension to the card I spiralled some wire flowers around a kebab stick.  As usual yellow stickles glitter glue in the flower centres.

I love this image of a pregnant woman it is ideal for Maternity Leave.  I found in my stash some crepe paper flowers with words on and this was the exact colour for the card and the word on this one was 'treasure'.  Paper used in the background was from Lili of the Valley - their paper are of a very good quality and would recommend using them.

Sorry this is short and sweet but as usual time is running away.  Be good until the next time - if you can't be good get crafting!
