I'm back with more projects

Sorry my readers for not posting of late - however my New Years Resolution 2014 will be on top of my blog.  Well what have I been doing in my crafty time other than trying to organise my Craft Room.  Yep still sorting!
Rhian has moved into her own house - so I created this key holder for them both.

Started by painting the roof tops

I have been using my melt pot to create these embellishments

I used plain cardstock on two and patterned on the two other houses.  Added some windows for the finishing touches.

They were really pleased with the end result and hangs proudly in their hall.

Some of my other projects were:

A 50th birthday card to someone who adores pink

A birthday for my cousin using a Penny Black Stamp

In the centre of the flowers I used yellow Stickles which is old favourite of mine.

I created this Christmas Card for a dear friend of mine who loves Owls - I stamped the image also on patterned papers - cutting out elements from the patterned paper I then overlay this onto the coloured image.

The holly die was one piece which I cut up to embellish all around the image.

I hope I have given you inspiration until my next blog - in the meantime Happy New Year to you all x

Where has the time gone!

It has been all go since the last blog - my eldest daughter has now come back from Mexico where she did a work placement from University in Mexico (yes I know it is a hard life); in the meantime my youngest daughter has been busy with her boyfriend setting up house which they moved into a couple of weeks ago.  Guess what I have been doing with her old room - you will be correct if you guessed CRAFT ROOM/mini office (very mini) - still quite a bit of sorting to do - I really have to down-size my stash.  Enough of the update - here is a card created in the new room.

Birthday card for Lin - using a couple of my new favourites - a lace punch and a flourish die.  You do really have to concentrate with the punch as you can easily miss-line it.  I do love stamps with hedgehogs in and the expressions that the Penny Black stamps give them
Here is a close up of the lace border

The stamped image was coloured in using my favourite Promarkers and yellow stickles glitter glue for the flower centres which just seems to finish them off nicely.

Hopefully I will be able to load some more up at the weekend - happy crafting until then!

New Stamps

After being inspired by my cousin's (Fleur) creations I just had to treat myself to some stamps from Lili of the Valley Stamps - the first thing I did once I received them was to create a box to keep them in.  Because they are unmounted stamps I prepared them with some cling mount (you can get various brands to do this - in fact some people use Pritt glue to adhere them to a stamping block but I find mine always falling off at the crucial time and spoil the card); once this was done I just stamped on some paper and cut it down - this helps you to see the image better.

We were going to a Christening and Lilie of the Valley was one of the few places where they did a stamp for this occasion and it doesn't need a lot of colour to it.

The Stain Glass done in pale colours - flowers coloured in pink for the gender.  Pillow and gown left uncoloured.

Add some stickles glitter for the bling effect

And this the finished card - a few embellishments and personalisation and there you have a simple, effective card for the occasion.  It is well worth visiting their website http://liliofthevalley.co.uk/

Home Sweet Home

Well I had an eventful few days away with some extraordinary sights - some of which I managed to take some photos of and will make some scrapbook pages - project for the future.

Anyhow whilst I was away I promised you a picture of a card I recently created for a friend's birthday.

I don't know if you can see it but I attached the hand written label with white chiffon ribbon coloured with the same Promarker pen used to colour the dress.  I very rarely buy coloured ribbon nowadays for cardmaking as Promarker pens do an excellent job of co-ordinating the colour scheme for you.

To finish off the card to the left side of the image was a swirl of pearls and on the other side a cascade of flowers with larger pearl centres.

I think that this is an easy card and very effective for a beginner to do.

Always Learning

I have spent all my resting time today trying to figure out how to post on my blog via my mobile and finally worked it (probably forget how by the next time I want to do it). I was hoping to put on another image of a card contained on my phone but Google doesn't seem to recognise window phones :'( so I will to do later in the week when I am back at home - so watch this space.

Even though I am on holiday I still have brought some crafting to do - my pens and some stamped images (dare I say include Christmas ones). So in the meantime happy crafting everyone ;-)

A bit of Romance

Once a month I meet up with some friends to do some crafting - this month it was do your own project so I decided to decorate a wooden heart.  I hadn't really thought this through as it has a hole at the top and was going to cover it with some cardstock.  To overcome this I decided to use two colours - to hide the join a piece of lace was put across.

Overview look

This embellish was made with my new toy - the Hot Melt Pot - I love using it!

Wooden button is in the shops now to buy

3D butterfly - stamp on the main cardstock - do another one to cut out and put either 3D pads or my favourite sillicone glue

New Experiences

At the moment I feel that life is moving on quickly now that it is getting scary so I have decided to set myself some new targets and experiences before it is too late.  Creating a Blog was one of the goals I promised my cousin Fleur Pearson that I would do this Summer holiday.  Seeing her blog http://fleurapassionforcraft.blogspot.co.uk  is inspirational and would love to attach the same expertise.

One of my daughters will be moving into her own home with her boyfriend within a couple of months and I already have designs on her room to change into my craft room/office.  I have so much stuff, tucked away here and there, that a lot of it does not get used so I have some major organising coming up and I am sure my creative juices will be flowing more.

Dad in Eygpt
This is one of the earlier scrapbook pages I created honouring my Dad - I like this as it was a simple layout (I apologise for the quality of picture)

As I get settled in my new room I will have more to share with you - especially with Christmas (sorry to mention this in July) looming up.
